Who We Are
4Sho4Kids was founded in 2001 by the multi-platinum, Grammy award wining artist Nelly (Cornell Haynes). Prior to signing the contract at Universal Records Nelly and the St Lunatics (Ali, Murphy Lee, Slo Down and Kyjuan ) encouraged students give back to their communities, to stay in school, and improve on their standardize tests. Nelly promised the students he and the St Lunatics would challenge their school in a basketball game. Being a man of his word the St Lunatics played countless basketball games and the students improved their grades.
After signing with Universal Nelly and the St Lunatics continued to give back. Nelly wanted to make a difference in the lives of children who were less fortunate and faced special challenges, in St Louis.
4Sho4Kids has aided the St Louis communities by providing grant support for speech and physical therapy, medical training, purchasing hearing aids, and providing paid summer camp for students.
Nelly and his late sister Jackie Donahue started an education awareness campaign encouraging minorities to join marrow registries to help save lives.
Further assistance has been provided in the area of educational training, field trips, and scholarships.
